Dish names written on the sushi photographs

Individual food photographs carry the labels “Chūtoro,” “Squid tentacles with anago sauce,” “Torotaku,” “Simmered red sea bream head,” “Chawanmushi,” “Scallop adductor” and “Uni sauce.” The plates and bowls are photographed closely.

Other sushi photographs have notes naming hirame engawa, anago, house-made seared cured mackerel, and boiled shrimp with kanpachi. The anago photograph also describes it as fluffy and delicious. A bone-like object on a leaf is labelled “Tai no tai.”

One close-up of sliced nori rolls asks, “What was this thin roll again?” The table record includes both named dishes and photographs that simply preserve their appearance.
