A sunny fishing-pond outing, with the catch for dinner

The children wanted to go fishing, but the morning weather made Haruru wonder whether they would have to cancel. Then the sky cleared, and a pond surprisingly close to home became the setting for an outing everyone enjoyed.

From haruru.1002’s account shared in April 2025, edited with permission.

From a doubtful morning to blue skies

It had been windy and rainy in the morning. Haruru thought the fishing trip might be called off, so the blue sky that followed was a welcome change.

She was surprised to find a fishing pond so nearby. Her photographs show the water beneath a clear sky, with trees around the edge and room to stand by the pond.

Catching fish and having them prepared to take home

The children caught fish and seemed to have a good time. The photographs follow their rods, the fish they held up and the bucket they gathered around.

At that visit, the fish they caught had to be bought, so the group kept the catch to four fish per person. It was part of how they managed that particular outing.

The staff quickly cleaned the fish, added salt and put them in plastic bags. The last photograph shows that preparation beside the pond, with stacked buckets and a bowl of salt on the worktable.

A salt-grilled dinner they wanted to repeat

Back home, the fish became salt-grilled dishes for dinner. Haruru found them delicious, and everyone was delighted by how good they tasted.

The enjoyment carried on after the fishing itself. By the end of dinner they were talking about going again, pleased that the uncertain morning had turned into such a good day.
