Airport luggage delivery / Japan
Japan airport luggage delivery: same-day, next-day and cutoff checks
Plan luggage delivery from a Japan airport to a hotel by checking the exact airport counter, same-day service area, cutoff time, standard delivery alternative, and hotel acceptance.
Short answer
Airport luggage delivery is not one universal same-day service. Yamato offers standard Airport TA-Q-BIN and separate same-day services at selected counters and destinations. The useful check is the exact airport counter, its cutoff, the destination service area and whether the accommodation can receive the bag.
Same-day delivery exists only at selected counters and destinations
Yamato states that same-day delivery is limited by the service counter and destination area, with different cutoffs and delivery times. If you miss the same-day cutoff, normal delivery can arrive the next day or later depending on the route.
Narita and Haneda need airport-specific cutoff checks
Yamato publishes separate airport guidance and FAQs for Narita and Haneda. Narita’s same-day Tokyo route has a published morning cutoff and a different Terminal 3 cutoff; Haneda also has same-day service. Recheck the current counter list on the day you plan the handoff.
Airport TA-Q-BIN also covers standard airport-to-hotel delivery
The Airport TA-Q-BIN service can send luggage from an airport to a home or hotel even when a same-day product is not suitable. Size, weight, fees and delivery time still depend on the actual shipment.
Hotel to airport uses an earlier sending deadline
Yamato allows hotel-to-airport delivery when you have a flight departing from that airport on the day you collect the bag. The operator says to send it at least two days before departure, three days from some areas, so that it reaches the airport by the day before the flight. Confirm the hotel can accept the shipment handoff; if not, use a supported convenience store or Yamato sales office.
Check the hotel or accommodation before sending
The delivery operator can accept a parcel while the accommodation cannot receive it. Yamato’s Narita guidance specifically warns that delivery to Airbnb-like accommodation may not be available, so confirm the property before sending.
