Confirm both the sending hotel and the receiving hotel

A hotel desk displaying or partnering with the delivery service can handle the sending side, but that does not prove the next accommodation can receive the bag. Confirm the destination front desk before handing the suitcase over.

Aim for arrival before the stay, not after check-in begins

Yamato’s hotel-to-hotel FAQ says to send the luggage so it arrives at the destination accommodation at least one day before the stay. Use the operator’s delivery-time check for the actual origin and destination instead of assuming every route is next-day.

If the receiving hotel cannot accept the bag, change the handoff before sending

Yamato’s hotel-to-hotel service applies only when the destination accommodation can receive luggage at the front desk. If the receiving hotel cannot accept it, do not send the bag there; switch to another confirmed receiving point or keep the bag with you until a workable handoff is arranged.

Airbnb and unattended accommodation need a different plan

Yamato notes that shipping from an Airbnb may not be possible and that accommodation without a receiving front desk may not accept the delivery. A convenience store or Yamato sales office can be a sending alternative, but the destination still needs a workable receiving arrangement.
