One night in Takamatsu: skewers, udon and a sea-view pause
Haruru.1002’s short trip to Takamatsu began with a late flight and ended with another late flight home. In between, a meal before checking in, a changed breakfast plan and a cafe by the sea became the parts she remembered.

Find dinner before checking in
She flew from Haneda on the final flight of the day, then took a bus from Takamatsu Airport towards Takamatsu Station. Before checking in, she searched for somewhere to eat and looked at several places from outside before choosing 若八屋.
The staff and atmosphere made her feel she had chosen well. Seeing examples of the grilled dishes encouraged her to order several. The sukiyaki skewer stood out as her favourite, and dinner became a happy start to the brief stay.
The photograph notes also name quail eggs wrapped in bacon, lettuce rolls, sesame-dressed amberjack and mentaiko cream udon.
A closed cafe changed the morning
The cafe she had picked for breakfast was closed that day. She looked again, spotted a Lotteria nearby and changed the plan to a cheeseburger set and a shrimp burger.
After a visit by local train, she returned to Takamatsu Station for Sanuki udon, adding squid tempura and a Setouchi lemon menchi cutlet. The udon was less remarkable to her than the previous evening’s skewers, but there was still another stop to come: a cold Halo-Halo dessert from Mini Stop in the heat.
A drink by the sea became another meal
She went to see the sea and intended to have only a drink at a cafe. Instead, she ordered a cocktail and the recommended beef-stew plate. She liked the stylish interior and spent time there relaxing.
A seafood bowl had been on her list before the airport bus, but she was too full for it by then. She finished the city portion of the trip with a beer at a retro-style place and bought souvenirs before heading back to the airport. Even there, after deciding against more udon, she found room for a hot dog.
Keep room to change your short-stay plan
She described the trip as enjoyable despite spending much of it feeling very full. Its useful rhythm is the flexibility between a few fixed points: the flights, the overnight stay and the airport journey. Breakfast changed, the cafe stop expanded, and the planned seafood bowl was left for another time.
For your own visit, check a preferred cafe’s opening information before setting out and check the airport journey before adding a final stop. Takamatsu Airport’s official bus page links to the current operator timetables. Use those for your travel date when fitting meals around your flight.
