Naha meals and a warm-weather ending to eight days in Okinawa
Near the end of a seven-night, eight-day trip around Okinawa and its islands, Haruru looked back on satisfying meals in Naha. The trip had been loosely planned, with destinations and places to stay decided along the way.

A steak worth the wait at Jack’s Steak House
In Naha, Haruru went to Jack’s Steak House and waited half an hour. Once she had eaten, she felt the wait had been worthwhile.
She found the steak tender and tasty, and was happy with the meal. The photograph records the steak on its dark plate, with rice and side dishes behind it.
Izakaya evenings and a familiar market purchase
On Kokusai Street she visited an izakaya with a live sanshin performance. She also enjoyed the food at 食の番屋 桃太郎, another of the restaurants she mentioned in her account.
Her meal photographs range from seafood dishes to meat-topped rice, recording some of the food from the trip.
Before leaving, she bought sata andagi from Ayumi at the public market, as she liked to do whenever she came to Okinawa. It was a familiar favourite to take away at the end of the journey.
Choosing the route as the journey unfolded
The Okinawa and island trip lasted seven nights and eight days. Haruru had left most accommodation unbooked in advance, changing where she went according to the weather and arranging stays and rental cars along the way.
The forecast had shown clouds and rain, yet most of the trip turned out sunny. She was warm enough to sweat in short sleeves and used the air conditioning at night.
Between shaved ice, soft-serve ice cream and time out in the warmth, she found it easy to forget that it was February. The journey ended safely, with everyday life waiting at home.
Sources for this account
Haruru’s account shared on 23 February 2019 names the Naha restaurants and Ayumi, describes the steak meal and market purchase, and looks back on a seven-night, eight-day trip. The photographed Jack’s Steak House and 歩 signs corroborate the names. The steak house’s official page confirms its English name, and the market’s official directory confirms the reading Ayumi. Present-day store details are not used to reconstruct the 2019 visit.
