Gyoza made with lard for the first time

Haruru tried adding lard to her gyoza filling for the first time. Once she had cooked and tasted them, she was delighted with the result.

From haruru.1002’s past accounts.

Preparing the filling and choosing thick, large wrappers

Her filling included lard, ginger and sesame oil, with long onion and chives as the vegetables. She used coarsely minced meat she had bought from a pork wholesaler.

For that batch, she chose thick, large gyoza wrappers.

Tasting a result she was pleased with

The cooked dumplings did not look as neatly arranged as she had hoped, but she was delighted when she tasted them.

She found them juicy and wondered whether using lard for the first time had helped. That was her impression of this particular batch.
