Looking back on camp meals: a first monja and warm sunshine

Looking back on the previous month’s camping meals, Haruru felt pleased with her first attempt at monja and wanted to make it again. The food photographs and clear skies sit alongside her memory of warm, pleasant days.

From haruru.1002’s past account, edited with permission.

A first monja she wanted to make again

Haruru tried monja for the first time while camping. She thought it had turned out quite well and wanted to repeat it.

One photograph is labelled as a first camping attempt at monja, while another says it was worth making again. Both preserve her pleasure in the result.

A variety of meals in the photographs

The food photographs carry names including peperoncino, shungiku salad, roast beef and bruschetta. Another dish is described as having wrappers made from scratch.

A toasted-sandwich image mentions anchovy and cheese, while a pot photograph describes a STAUB pot with salt as the only seasoning. The seafood yakisoba image carries a personal comment comparing its taste to food from a stall.

An apple cake described as a souvenir

Another photograph is labelled お土産のりんごケーキ, an apple cake souvenir, with a note that it contains chunks of sweet potato.

Warm days and a photographed view of Fuji

Haruru remembered clear weather and pleasantly warm days. A sky photograph also carries a note about the sunshine.

A photograph of the mountain beyond a road is labelled as Mount Fuji on the outward journey. Alongside the food, she kept a view from the journey.
