Osaka Amazing Pass 2026–27: what it costs, how a "day" is counted and the limits that catch people out
Checked against 5 official sources. 4 minute read.
What to know first
The pass costs ¥3,500 for one day or ¥5,000 for two consecutive days, and children pay the same as adults. It covers about 40 attractions plus specified Osaka Metro, city bus and private railway travel, with exclusions. On the core passes a "day" runs from 03:00 to 02:59, not 24 hours from when you start, and each attraction can be used only once over the whole pass, even on the two-day version. Three adult reference prices — Umeda Sky Building ¥2,000, Osaka Castle Museum ¥1,200 and the Tombori cruise ¥2,000 — add up to ¥5,200, more than the one-day pass, but only if you reach the Sky Building by 15:00.

How the "day" works
On the core one- and two-day passes, a pass day runs from 03:00 to 02:59. The KIX version works differently: it runs for 28 hours from first use. Start using a one-day pass at 16:00 and it ends that night, not at 16:00 the next day: trains and buses until the last service, attractions until their last admission. If you activate it between midnight and 02:59, you are using the day that ends at 03:00 — so you would get under three hours.
The 1-day and 2-day passes are on sale from 25 March 2026 to 31 March 2027; the KIX 28-hour version from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027. You must use it within three months of buying it, and activate it by 31 March; a two-day pass activated on 31 March can still be used on 1 April.

The limits worth knowing before you buy
- Umeda Sky Building: free with the pass only up to 15:00; after that you get a 10% discount instead. Its adult reference price is ¥2,000.
- Osaka Castle Museum: reference price ¥1,200, covering the Main Tower and the Toyotomi Stone Wall Museum on the same day.
- Tombori River Cruise: you exchange the pass for a specified boat on the same day; if the cruises are full, you cannot board. Adult reference fare ¥2,000.
- Osaka Housing and Living Museum: listed as closed from 1 September 2026 to 5 January 2027.
- Once only: each attraction counts once across the whole pass.

Worked example: one adult, one autumn day
- Pass: ¥3,500.
- Morning: Osaka Castle Museum, reference ¥1,200.
- Early afternoon: Tombori cruise, exchanged for a boat the same day, reference ¥2,000.
- Before 15:00: Umeda Sky Building, reference ¥2,000.
- Reference total: ¥5,200, so ¥1,700 more than the pass. Reach the Sky Building after 15:00 and you pay ¥1,800 there on top of the pass (10% off ¥2,000), so ¥5,300 in all — more than the ¥5,200 those three attractions cost without the pass. These sums count admissions only, not the Metro and bus travel the pass also covers.
- Leave out the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living: it is closed until 5 January 2027.

Not the core one- and two-day passes: a day runs from 03:00 to 02:59. The KIX version runs for 28 hours from first use.

No. It is free only up to 15:00; later you get a 10% discount.
Can I use one attraction on both days of the two-day pass?
No. Each attraction is once over the whole pass.
Can I get a refund?
An unused pass may be refundable within validity; an activated one cannot.
