Grape picking in Yamanashi, a hot spring and a souvenir surprise
Grape picking, a hot spring and grapes to take home filled Haruru’s day in Yamanashi. The surprise in her September 2018 account was finding a vending machine selling the souvenirs she wanted.

A sunny day under the grapevines
Haruru travelled to Yamanashi by car on a day that felt unusually hot to her for September. The sunshine lifted her mood as she went grape picking.
The child who accompanied her enjoyed cutting grapes with scissors, according to her account. The photographs also show grapevines and a shop display with several grape varieties.
A stop at Momo no Sato Onsen
Her day included ももの里温泉, Momo no Sato Onsen. She described it as small and quiet on that visit, with an outdoor bath.
She also enjoyed the food there. A photograph of the wooden sign bearing the hot spring’s name sits alongside pictures of the blue sky and surrounding scenery.
Grapes from an unexpected place
At the grape-picking shop, the souvenirs had seemed a little expensive to her. Finding a grape vending machine was an unexpected alternative, and she was glad she had not already bought more at the shop.
She bought Shine Muscat and Kyoho grapes, and felt that these tasted sweeter too. The photographs show green and dark grapes inside the machine’s compartments.
The journey home brought a long traffic queue on the Chuo Expressway between Otsuki and the Kobotoke Tunnel. Her day ended with souvenirs to take home, even if the return journey was slower than she would have liked.
