Sunday sushi at the counter, with time to talk
Haruru allowed herself a little indulgence with a Sunday sushi meal. Along with the carefully prepared food, having time to talk made it a happy memory.
From haruru.1002’s past accounts.
A little indulgence for Sunday
Haruru found each dish carefully prepared and felt happy with every mouthful. It was a meal that made her glad to enjoy an occasional treat.
One food photograph carries the words “after a while” and “sushi at the counter”. Tableware and the wooden counter appear alongside the food.
Dish names and little notes in the photographs
The photographs are labelled with ankimo, clam clear soup, blanched hamo and nikogori. The sushi images also name chūtoro, nodokuro, kohada and ark shell, uni, and hirame.
The chūtoro photograph says it melted; the uni photograph describes a favourite. A note beside the whale dish also admires the whale-patterned plate. Close views of the food and wider views of the tableware preserve different details.
Plenty of conversation without a drink
The restaurant was reserved for the group on that occasion, leaving time to talk at leisure. Haruru did not drink because she was driving, yet she recalled the conversation being as lively as a tipsy chat.
There were dishes she did not photograph, and she ended the meal completely full. Both the food and the conversation stayed with her from that Sunday.
