Second-day food memories: xiaolongbao, oysters and coconut hotpot

Familiar xiaolongbao, a first taste of fruit candy and oysters she wanted again: Haruru’s second-day food account brings together old favourites and new tastes. She also loved a recommended coconut hotpot, with shaved ice waiting after she returned.

From haruru.1002’s past accounts.

Returning for favourite xiaolongbao

Her account begins with a return for pan-fried xiaolongbao, which she said she had eaten every day on her previous stay. It was a chance to enjoy a remembered favourite again.

The juices spilled out, making the dumplings difficult to eat. She wrote that quite a lot had splashed, a small detail that kept the experience vivid.

Sweet candy and a slightly tart little fruit

At the candy shop, she tried a small fruit that looked like a little apple for the first time. Its slightly sweet and tart flavour went well with the sweetness of the candy.

Alongside returning for familiar food, there was room to try something new. Her short description captures that pleasure.

Eel and oysters at a restaurant she had visited before

At a skewer restaurant she had visited before, Haruru enjoyed the eel enough to order more. She also described charcoal cooking and skewers that turned automatically.

The oysters were a particular favourite. She praised their plump texture and generous garlic, and also enjoyed the broth of the cold noodles. She remembered it as a satisfying evening meal.

A coconut hotpot she wanted others to try

Haruru described the recommended coconut hotpot restaurant as the main meal of the day. This was another meal she found delicious.

She liked it enough to want everyone else to try it too, adding another favourite to her second-day food memories.

Shaved ice after returning, even with a full stomach

She returned with a full stomach, only to find dessert waiting. The day’s food account ended with shaved ice.

Haruru wrote how happy she was to enjoy her favourite shaved ice at that time of year. Her second-day story then looked ahead to the following day.
