Making rhubarb jam after work
The rhubarb Haruru had brought home from Karuizawa had been sitting for a while. Worried that she would end up throwing it away, she started making jam as soon as she got back from work.

Using the rhubarb that had been waiting
Haruru got started as soon as she was home from work, determined to use the rhubarb that day.
She had pictured rhubarb as bright red, but wrote that this variety apparently did not turn red. Although the colour differed from what she had imagined, she felt the taste was the same.
Jam was enough for that day
She wrote that simmering it over low heat and skimming the foam took less time than she had expected. For that day, she stopped at making the jam.
Thinking about a weekend pound cake
