Back to a neighbourhood izakaya for beef harami and a natto omelette

Haruru returned to an izakaya in a residential neighbourhood after several years. Familiar skewers, beef harami tataki and a natto omelette made it a meal she was glad to revisit.

From haruru.1002’s past accounts.

Familiar skewers after a long absence

The handmade tsukune were grilled with salt and contained cartilage, giving them a texture Haruru enjoyed. The shiro skewers also had the fatty, yielding texture she liked.

She found the kimchi horumon simple but delicious. Seeing the restaurant busy on her return, she felt that the people running it were part of its appeal, along with the food.

The beef harami she wanted to order here

The beef harami tataki stood out. Haruru wrote that the meat was tender and tasted especially good with a sauce containing plenty of garlic and ginger.

She felt that her photograph did not quite convey how much she enjoyed it. For her, it was a dish she wanted to order whenever she came to this restaurant.

A natto omelette to finish

The special omelette she ordered at the end contained natto on this visit. It prompted her to order rice as well.

This meal rounded off her Golden Week outings. Reflecting on the different things she liked about each restaurant, she was already thinking about trying somewhere new next time.
