A tavern that differed from her expectations, and ramen she could not finish
Haruru visited a tavern hoping for a retro Showa-era atmosphere. The experience differed from what she had imagined, and by the time she finished the outing with ramen, she was too full to eat it all.
From haruru.1002’s past accounts.
A different atmosphere from the one she had imagined
She had gone out hoping for the atmosphere of an old-style Showa-era tavern. On that visit she saw many younger customers, including women, and found the setting different from the one she had pictured.
The staff serving the food were young too. In her account, she reflected on how times had changed.
Reflecting on the meal over corn tea
The prices also felt less inexpensive than she had expected. She mentioned monkfish liver, a sashimi assortment, oysters and eel liver while recording her impressions of that meal.
She was drinking corn tea as she reflected on the difference between the tavern she had imagined and the experience of that visit.
Too full to finish the final ramen
She ended the outing with ramen she called Kyabeton ramen. By then she was already too full to finish the bowl.
Because she disliked leaving food, she felt sorry for the staff. That feeling also became part of her account of the day’s meals.
