Four days in Okinawa, with island songs, food and shop browsing
Haruru remembered this Okinawa trip for how much she ate and how much she enjoyed it. Three nights and four days brought sunshine, an evening of island songs and time for browsing shops between meals.

Sunshine that surprised her
Haruru flew to Okinawa expecting cloudy weather followed by rain. Instead, she found sunshine and temperatures around 27°C during her visit. Even short sleeves felt warm to her.
The flight photographs include an Okinawa boarding display and a view of the sky beyond an aircraft wing. They frame an account of a trip whose weather had been a pleasant surprise.
An evening of music, and three days of meals
On the first night, she went to an izakaya with an island-song performance. Customers were singing and dancing, and she remembered the lively atmosphere. An Orion beer bottle also appears among her meal photographs.
Her list of food ranged from taco rice, steak and soki soba to champuru dishes, fried fish, mozuku tempura and sea grapes. She made clear that the long list covered three days of meals.
A collage brings several of those dishes together, including steak, a rice bowl and stir-fried dishes. The staff at the izakaya on her final night also made the visit feel friendly and welcoming.
Shop browsing and views of the sea
Between meals, Haruru browsed American-style shops. Her photographs include a palm-lined street and an interior with DOUBLE DECKER written above the counter, with sofa seating in the room.
There are also views of blue water and a clear shoreline. Food, music and shopping had filled the three-night trip, and she finished her account wanting to come back the following year.
