Six classmates in Karuizawa: a shared table and familiar stories

Haruru travelled to Karuizawa with five friends from middle school. They shared meals at a rental villa and spent the evening laughing over stories they had told many times before. It was a lively trip with friends she had known for years.

From haruru.1002’s past accounts.

Settling into a well-equipped villa

She brought wooden plates, a STAUB pot, seasonings and ingredients. The villa was clean and well supplied with equipment and tableware. In her account, Haruru described it as a particular favourite among the villas she had stayed in.

Her friends were delighted too. Almost as soon as they arrived, they were talking about returning every year. The places they wanted to visit felt close by, and an autumn trip during the changing leaves sounded appealing.

Taking care of the driving and meals

Haruru took care of the driving and the meals on this trip. She put the food together quickly and was pleased that everyone enjoyed it.

Stories that still made everyone laugh

She also recalled a clear view of Onioshidashi on Saturday. That evening, the old stories kept coming. They wondered how often they had told each one, then laughed all over again.

Haruru was glad to be travelling with friends she had known for so long. Getting home safely brought a feeling of relief, along with the hope of taking another trip together the following year.
