Travelling to Isogo for a meal
Haruru wrote that the journey from her home to Izakaya Aki in Isogo took about two hours. Even after that journey, her reaction was that she was glad she had come.
The entrance photograph shows the name 秋, Aki, on the signs, with lanterns beside the door. It places the meal at the shop named in her account.
Sashimi to start, with more dishes to follow
She started with sashimi, which she described as fresh. Her photograph shows an assortment arranged on a large plate, followed by other dishes including an oyster with lemon, a salad and an aubergine dish.
There are also photographs of asparagus and a plate of sliced meat with a fried egg. Together, the pictures give shape to what she enjoyed about the visit: a varied menu with plenty of dishes to choose from.
A chance to unwind
Haruru also mentioned the drinks, including homemade ones, among the things the shop offered. One photograph records a drink in a KIRIN glass beside the dishes.
By the time she wrote the account, she was already enjoying her drinks. For her, this was also a chance to let off steam from time to time, with a meal that had made the journey worthwhile.
