A warm day, a cold night and the satisfaction of setting up at Halloween camp
The Halloween camp day was warm enough for short sleeves, but the night turned sharply cold. Haruru recalled feeling underprepared for the temperature change, alongside the satisfaction of setting up on her own and enjoying meals outdoors.

The satisfaction of setting up on her own
That weekend felt unusually warm for October to her, and she could spend the daytime in short sleeves. Haruru wrote that she had only just become able to set up on her own.
Although she still felt inexperienced, doing the setup herself brought satisfaction. It left her wanting to visit more places in the future.
Feeling underprepared when the night turned cold
She had thought the warmth might last, but the temperature felt much colder at night. Without enough warm gear, she wrote that she wrapped a bath towel around her neck to get through it.
She looked back on that as a mistake and a reminder of her inexperience. The contrast between the warm day and the cold night stayed with her.
Enjoying food outdoors and looking forward to more camp meals
Haruru felt that eating in natural surroundings gave familiar food a different appeal. She found briefly grilled, previously boiled chestnuts sweeter, and enjoyed the squid tentacles she often ate at home even more when cooked in a skillet.
She looked ahead to using her Staub pot in the coming season and making more camp meals. Her account ended with a laugh at how much of her camping enthusiasm revolved around food.
