Different noodle choices with a friend, and ideas for the next visit
At a tantanmen place she had wanted to try, Haruru and a friend chose golden-sesame and black-sesame bowls. After tasting both, she preferred her friend's choice. A separate aburasoba meal also left her with the pleasure of trying something different and a plan for next time.

Comparing golden-sesame and black-sesame bowls
Haruru chose golden-sesame tantanmen with whole-wheat noodles and paiko, which she described as a curry-flavoured pork cutlet. She enjoyed the chewy noodles with the creamy broth and liked the topping too.
Her friend ordered black-sesame tantanmen with regular noodles and no topping. After comparing them, Haruru found that bowl even more delicious. She liked ordering differently so they could try more things, yet admired her friend's choices. The black-sesame bowl with regular noodles became what she wanted next time.
A small drinks set, followed by a little more
On that visit, she also enjoyed a small set with one drink and a choice of two dishes. They went on to add more drinks and food.
She enjoyed the food and the staff's welcome, leaving her wanting to return. Although she had not photographed it, she also remembered the meat shumai as delicious.
Natto-kimchi aburasoba at a different restaurant
At a different restaurant, the word 'popular' tempted Haruru to order natto-kimchi aburasoba. The natto flavour felt so strong to her that it seemed more like eating natto and kimchi than the noodles themselves.
Her friend chose the regular version. Once again, that became the one Haruru wanted to try next time. She hoped her own choice might be the favourite one day, part of the fun of trying different dishes.
