Cold sweet-and-sour pork worth returning for, then a market walk
On the fourth day of her trip, Haruru returned for lunch to a place she had visited before. The cold sweet-and-sour pork impressed her all over again. Afterwards, a market walk gave her a little exercise and a very different set of impressions from those at the lunch table.

Day four began with the hotel buffet
The day began with the hotel buffet. Haruru wrote that she had once again eaten plenty.
For lunch, she returned to the place where she had enjoyed cold sweet-and-sour pork before. A dish she wanted to taste again became another pleasure of the trip.
A second visit that impressed her again
A second visit can sometimes feel less exciting than the first. Haruru had that possibility in mind, but this lunch impressed her all over again. She felt that the pleasure might be hard to convey without having someone try the food themselves.
Writing on the photographs names shrimp shumai, beef congee and stir-fried greens. A plate labelled sweet-and-sour pork is filled with clear ice.
A photograph of red rolls carries notes about a chewy outer layer, a crisp interior and sesame sauce.
Different impressions at the market after lunch
After lunch, Haruru walked through a market for a little exercise. Ingredients at a stall left a different impression from the dishes she had enjoyed at the table.
The market photographs show colourful baskets holding water, tanks of crabs and bundles of green leaves and stems. A note admiring markings on a crab’s shell preserves a small detail that caught the eye.
Seeing the ingredients brought the meal to mind, but Haruru was still happy with how good it had tasted. Her words convey both surprise and enjoyment.
Another shiratama skewer before dinner
Before dinner, Haruru had another shiratama skewer. Her remark that the skewers had finally become her snack captures how much she was enjoying eating during the trip.
The evening meal was still to be told in the next part of her account. This entry follows the return lunch, the market walk and the snack before dinner.
