A Chigasaki day by the sea, with time to change the plan

The plan had been a day trip to a hot spring. Instead, memories of the seaside drew haruru.1002 to Chigasaki for breakfast, time looking out at the water and a day with room to linger.

A past personal outing by haruru.1002, shared with permission.

Breakfast set the mood for the day

She had not been to the Chigasaki coast for many years. The seaside brought back memories, helped by familiar music playing near the beach. A breakfast she enjoyed made for a cheerful start before spending time by the water.

Time to sit, watch and enjoy the seaside

On that visit, she found the breeze pleasant and the sunshine less intense than she might have expected. She rented a sunbed, watched the sea and the people around her, and enjoyed the slower pace.

For lunch, she wanted the atmosphere of a beachside food stop. Curry, yakisoba, ramen and shaved ice all appeared in her account, along with a friendly conversation with the staff. She later put her feet in the water and took another rest before leaving.

Her seaside photographs also show the beachside building signed 海猫亭 (UMINEKO-TEI).

A whitebait meal before heading home

Before returning, she stopped at a nearby restaurant and chose a whitebait meal. Raw whitebait was unavailable that day. The rest of the meal included whitebait in several dishes, and she joked that she had had enough of it for a while.

Leave room for the day you feel like having

The pleasure in this outing came from changing the original plan and allowing time for breakfast, the beach and an extra food stop. If you borrow that approach, decide which parts of your own day are flexible and which bookings or return arrangements are fixed.
