Tanmen in Aichi, a changed lunch order and a double-yolk surprise

Haruru’s account brings together tanmen in Aichi, a set lunch whose order she changed, and a surprise when she cracked eggs on a separate morning. Each left her with a different memory.

From haruru.1002’s past accounts.

Trying to show the fine noodles

Gifu Tanmen is one of the places Haruru visits when she is in Aichi. She wanted to show the fine noodles and photographed the bowl after mixing it. The result looked a little untidy to her, but she enjoyed the meal.

From a planned shrimp set to mixed fry

For a separate lunch, she intended to order the large fried-shrimp set her daughter had chosen on an earlier visit. Her account described it as limited to ten servings a day at the time, and she remembered how generous and appetising it had looked.

Then she noticed that the mixed-fry set included oysters as well as shrimp and changed her order. The texture differed from what she had hoped for and felt firm to her.

Haruru decided to order the large fried-shrimp set next time. She even wanted her daughter to remind her not to change her mind again.

Tanmen to take home

She also found a home-use pack of Gifu Tanmen and bought it as a souvenir. Alongside the bowl she ate out, her account remembers the product she took home.

A surprise in the second egg on another morning

On a separate morning, Haruru was going to make French toast with eggs bought the day before. She had been told there might be one or two double-yolk eggs in the pack. The children were looking forward to finding them, so she tried to choose smaller eggs.

Even so, the second egg had two yolks. Thinking of the children’s anticipation, she panicked and mixed it before they woke up. She hoped there would be another double-yolk egg left for them to find.
