Pokémon Café and PokéPark KANTO tickets from overseas: how booking works

Checked against 19 official sources. 12 minute read.

What to know first

Both can be booked from abroad, on different systems. Pokémon Café (Tokyo and Osaka) is reservation-only and books online only. Each month's dates go on sale on the 1st of the month before, at 18:00 Japan time: November 2026 dates opened at 18:00 on 1 October 2026. There's no booking fee; you pay for what you order, and everyone aged 6 or over orders at least one item. PokéPark KANTO, the outdoor Pokémon park inside Yomiuriland on the edge of Tokyo, has been open since February 2026. Overseas residents buy through its English Official Web Ticket Store, run by JTRweb. Tickets are sold by lottery three months ahead. You apply between the 1st and 12th of each month (from 19:00 Japan time on the 1st), results come out around the end of the month, and you pay by the month's last day. A January 2027 adult Trainer's Pass costs ¥7,900–¥9,400 depending on the date. Bring the passport you registered: from November 2026 it's scanned at the gate.

Next step: Under the published monthly rule, for PokéPark February 2027 dates, apply between 1 November 2026, 19:00 JST (10:00 in London, 11:00 in Paris and Berlin) and 12 November, 23:59 JST (14:59 London, 15:59 Paris and Berlin). For the café, December 2026 dates were not announced as of 18 October 2026; if the usual pattern holds they open at 18:00 JST on 1 November 2026, and the café's NEWS page usually confirms it one to two weeks ahead.

Pokémon Café booking rules that trip people up

  • Online only: no phone or email bookings.

  • One booking per email address: if you're booking several dates, or a group of seven or more (which needs two bookings), use a different email address for each booking.

  • Count everyone, including babies ("children aged 0 and above").

  • The party size can't be changed after booking, and you can't choose your seat.

  • Verification emails come from @mail-pokemon-cafe.jp. Make sure that domain isn't filtered to spam before you start.

  • Fees: the FAQ lists no booking fee or seat charge. The only payment at booking is for any reserved goods (up to three items, card only; some debit and prepaid cards are refused).

  • Cancel by 22:00 JST the day before using the link in your confirmation email. After that, phone the café.

  • Late arrival: a booking is cancelled automatically if you're 10 minutes late without telling the café. Your table is yours for 90 minutes from the booking time, with last orders 30 minutes before the end. Arriving late doesn't extend it.

  • Ordering: everyone aged 6 or over orders at least one item. The menu is in English, Simplified Chinese and Korean. Dishes can't be changed: no removing ingredients, even for allergies.

If Pokémon Café is sold out

  2. 2. Try the other city. The release notices cover both cafés, and Osaka has its own reservation site and seats.

  3. 3. Go for goods only. You can walk in to buy merchandise without a booking, while stock lasts.

  4. 4. Pikachu Sweets by Pokémon Café, Sunshine City ALPA 2F, Ikebukuro: takeaway, no reservation, 10:00–20:00. Items cost ¥620–¥972 (for example, a Poke-Mochi Rowlet is ¥620).

Part 2: PokéPark KANTO, what it is and where

PokéPark KANTO is an outdoor area inside Yomiuriland amusement park, 4015-1 Yanokuchi, Inagi City, Tokyo. It has two main areas.

Pokémon Forest: a nature trail with steep slopes and a 110-step staircase.

Sedge Town: the "town" area, with shops, shows and two rides (Pika Pika Paradise and Vee Vee Voyage).

From October 2026 it's open 11:00–19:00. Every PokéPark ticket includes entry to Yomiuriland itself. Take the Keio Line to Keio-yomiuri-land Station, then the Sky Shuttle gondola. The park says it's about 2 hours from Haneda and 2.5 hours from Narita by public transport.

How the PokéPark KANTO overseas lottery works

If columns are cut off, scroll sideways. Keyboard: focus the table, then use Left/Right Arrow keys.

ItemLottery dates
January 2027 visits

January 2027 visits: the application window has closed (1 October to 12 October 2026, 23:59 Japan time). The official scheduled start was 19:00 on 1 October; a reported delay to 20:00 remains unconfirmed against an official page. Results are around the end of October (only winners are notified); pay by 31 October 2026.

February 2027 visits

February 2027 visits: apply from 1 November 2026, 19:00 to 12 November 2026, 23:59 Japan time; results around the end of November; pay by 30 November 2026.

March 2027 visits

March 2027 visits: apply from 1 December 2026, 19:00 to 12 December 2026, 23:59 Japan time; results around the end of December; pay by 31 December 2026.

The February and March rows follow the store's published rule: admissions three months ahead, applications from the 1st to the 12th, and a 19:00 start from October 2026. The store says the schedule can change without notice.

When you apply, you choose one ticket type and one date per application. You then enter each visitor's name, passport number and country. The registered passport number can't be changed after you submit. If winners don't pay, the store may hold a redraw; it isn't announced in advance, and redraw winners are told by email. You can cancel an application during the application period. After payment, cancellation "may be available within a designated period"; the conditions are shown in the Important Note before you pay.

At the gate (from 1 November 2026): each registered visitor scans their original passport on a verification machine. Copies aren't accepted, and a mismatch can mean refused entry. Whether refusal for an ID mismatch is refunded was not confirmed in this recheck.

People who live in Japan use the Japanese site instead (lottery, plus first-come sales two months ahead). It needs a Japanese mobile number for SMS. Overseas visitors can't use it.

Worked example: a family of four, January 2027

Family calculation

Two adults and two children aged 8 and 11. No one is under 5, so everyone can enter Pokémon Forest.

PokéPark KANTO, Trainer's Passes, high-price day (Saturday 9 January): 2 × ¥9,400 + 2 × ¥5,600 = ¥18,800 + ¥11,200 = ¥30,000.

Low-price day (Tuesday 26 January): 2 × ¥7,900 + 2 × ¥4,700 = ¥15,800 + ¥9,400 = ¥25,200. Moving the visit to a weekday saves ¥4,800. Rides in Sedge Town are extra and paid on the day.

Pokémon Café TOKYO the day before (at least one item each for anyone 6 or over): 2 × Best Buddies Pikachu & Pichu's Curry Rice Plate at ¥2,530 = ¥5,060; 2 × Eevee's Colorful Fruit Pancake at ¥2,090 = ¥4,180. Café total: ¥9,240.

Two-day total: ¥34,440 (low day) to ¥39,240 (high day). That's about £165 to £188 at HMRC's October 2026 rate of ¥208.59 to £1, before card fees or exchange margins.

  1. Timeline, step 1: the January 2027 application window (1–12 October 2026) has closed. If planning now, use the next window for February 2027 visits: 1–12 November 2026, under the published monthly rule. The January prices above are not February quotes. The overseas store pages we checked don't say whether a second application for another date, from you or another member of your group, is allowed, so read the store's rules before you apply again. For comparison, the Japanese site for residents allows up to three applications per period, of which only one can win.

  2. Step 2: for the January example, check the winner email in late October and pay by 31 October 2026. For February visits under the monthly rule, check in late November and pay by 30 November 2026.

  3. Step 3 for the January example, around 1 December 2026, 18:00 JST: book Pokémon Café for 25 January, once the café confirms when January 2027 dates go on sale.

  4. Step 4, on the day: bring all four passports. Enter Yomiuriland, then request show and shop slots in the app from 10:45.

If PokéPark KANTO is sold out, or you lose the lottery

Wait for the redraw. Losing applicants may see "Selection in Progress" until any redraw finishes.

Apply again next month for the following admission month. The window repeats on the 1st–12th.

Switch pass type. You can only choose one type per application. If the Trainer's Pass is oversubscribed, a Town Pass application may be more likely to win; the store's Draw Application Status page shows demand for each type.

Don't buy resale. The park invalidates resold tickets and every other ticket bought by the same person, without refund.

Questions about this guide

When do Pokémon Café reservations open?

On the 1st of the month before, at 18:00 Japan time, for the whole following month. November 2026 dates opened at 18:00 JST on 1 October 2026. December 2026 hadn't been announced as of 18 October. If it follows the pattern, it opens at 18:00 JST on 1 November (09:00 London, 10:00 Paris and Berlin).

Is there a fee to book Pokémon Café?

The official FAQ lists no booking fee or seat charge. You pay for your food and drink at the café. Everyone aged 6 or over must order at least one item, and a curry plate is ¥2,530. The only charge at booking is for any goods you reserve with it (up to three items, credit card only).

Can tourists buy PokéPark KANTO tickets?

Yes, through the English Official Web Ticket Store (ticket-en.pokepark-kanto.co.jp), which is for non-residents of Japan. It sells by lottery: apply from the 1st to the 12th of each month for visits three months later, and pay by the end of that month if you win. You need a credit card and each visitor's passport number.

Can a 4-year-old go into Pokémon Forest?

No. Children under 5 and the guardians with them can't enter Pokémon Forest, even if carried or in a pushchair. Buy Town Passes for the child and for the adult staying with them. A Town Pass for a child aged 3 or over costs ¥2,800–¥3,300 in January 2027. Under-3s enter Sedge Town free. For prams and buggies generally, see our Japan with a stroller guide.

Do I need the PokéPark KANTO app?

It isn't required for entry, but you need it for limited-access slots at the Pokémon Daisuki Shop, Pokémon Playhouse and Sedge Gym Show. You can request these from 10:45 after entering Yomiuriland. Download the English version with your app-store country set outside Japan. It only works once you're connected to a network in Japan, so sort out data first: see our pocket Wi-Fi or eSIM guide.
