A Starbucks lunch with a gift ticket, and a scone to take home

A gift ticket prompted Haruru to have lunch at Starbucks, somewhere she did not often visit. She ordered with every intention of eating it all, but the scone came home with her. It was a change from her usual lunch.

From haruru.1002’s past accounts.

A gift that led to a different lunch

She did not often go to Starbucks, but receiving a ticket gave her a reason to visit.

Her account at the time recorded a total of ¥1,940, or ¥1,440 after the ticket. She thought of that as what she would usually spend on two meals, making this lunch feel like a small treat.

Taking the untouched scone home

When she ordered, Haruru fully intended to eat everything. In the end, she could not manage even a bite of the scone and asked to take it home. She reflected on her habit of ordering more than she could eat.

Thinking ahead to the remaining tickets

At that point, she still had five tickets left. Haruru decided to think a little more carefully about using them next time and ended the account with thanks for the gift.
