A New Year visit to Sensoji and a first walk through Togoshi Ginza
Haruru returned to Sensoji for a New Year visit. The sky was a clear blue, and the crowds surprised her even after the first three days of January.

A blue-sky New Year visit to Asakusa
It had been some time since her last visit to Sensoji. Even beyond the first three days of the New Year, she found it crowded.
Her photographs take in the temple buildings and large lantern, the five-storey pagoda and views of the surrounding streets beneath the blue sky.
A free seat led to a good meal
After paying her respects, she wanted a quick drink, but the places she tried were full. Finding a seat at another restaurant turned out well.
The beef-tendon stew was simple but well seasoned. She also enjoyed a three-fish sashimi selection of tuna, winter yellowtail and sea bream, which she described as supplied from Toyosu Market.
A long shopping street, then curry
She left Asakusa for her first visit to Togoshi Ginza. The long shopping street had traditional hardware shops and butchers, with newer shops dotted among them.
None caught her interest enough to go inside, and she ended up eating curry at CoCo Ichibanya before heading home.
Even so, visiting somewhere new was fun. The day left her wanting to explore more unfamiliar neighbourhoods during the year.
