Bowls, plates, a pot and a cold sweet: photo notes

Noodle bowls, plates of small fish, a round pot and a cold sweet appear in separate photographs. This notebook brings them together through the details of their dishes and presentation, ending with a view up at the sky.

Scenes recorded in the photographs.

The bowls and the small-fish plates

A white bowl holds brown broth, noodles, sliced meat and a round white topping. Another bowl carries a mound of long white vegetable strips. In a separate close-up, a thick rolled slice of meat sits beside bean sprouts and green leaves.

Two plates of battered small fish offer a different close view, showing the shapes of the coating and the patterns around the rims.

A round pot and a green iced sweet

A pale-yellow dish fills a round black pot, marked by bands of green, small white fish and a round brown centrepiece.

A separate photograph of the sweet shows green ice in a clear cup, topped with a white scoop and reddish-brown beans. A white saucer and spoon complete the setting.

From the table to a view of the sky

A sky-filled photograph shows a bright light and a diagonal streak, with bare branches at the lower right. It closes the notebook by turning from close views of food to a wider space.
