A red headband remembered from the news
She had just seen a news report about Mr Obata and had not imagined that she would meet him.
On her way back, she noticed people gathered on the pavement. She was about to pass them when she spotted the red headband she remembered.
Turning back for a chance to meet him
At first, she thought she would keep going. Then she decided to turn back for this unexpected chance. She recalled about ten people waiting for photographs or a few words.
He spoke with each person, wrote messages and posed for photographs. Meeting him left her with the same warm impression she had formed from seeing him on television.
Leaving with renewed encouragement
She wrote that the unexpected encounter gave her a welcome burst of encouragement. She came away feeling that she should keep doing her best, too.
Choosing to stop and turn back made it a moment she wanted to remember.
