A Hong Kong board, a shopfront queue and a harbour view

Three photographs move from a board marked for Hong Kong to a queue at a shopfront and a statue beside the harbour. Their signs and surroundings offer different views of the city.

Scenes recorded in the photographs.

A board for Hong Kong and numbered bays

The large board reads “往香港 TO HONG KONG,” above columns for bay and coach numbers. The added Japanese words say, “Today, to Hong Kong.”

The Ichiran sign and a queue outside

A large “一蘭 ICHIRAN” sign overlooks people waiting outside. The written note expresses surprise at the queue and looks forward to visiting Satsumakko back in Japan.

A poised statue against the harbour

Blue water and high-rise buildings extend beyond a statue in a martial-arts pose, with people along the promenade also in the frame.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board describes a life-sized bronze Bruce Lee statue at the waterfront Avenue of Stars.
