A second evening in Shenzhen: her daughter’s dinner picks and a night-sky show
On her second evening, Haruru enjoyed her daughter’s recommendations at a restaurant in a shopping mall. Afterwards they travelled to Shenzhen Bay Park, where a drone show made another impression on her.

Trying her daughter’s recommendations
There were queues at restaurants around the mall that evening. Following her daughter’s recommendations, Haruru tried a variety of dishes and enjoyed everything she ate.
Her favourite was a dish she likened to crab rice porridge, with a delicate flavour from the crab. She also described prawn-packed shumai, rich truffle shumai and crisp fried prawn spring rolls. Even while laughing at her own difficulty describing food, she made her enjoyment clear.
The mall made an impression too
The setting stayed with her as well as the food. She found the mall stylish and wrote that it had changed the impression she had brought with her.
Looking up at the night sky after dinner
After dinner they took a train to Shenzhen Bay Park. Haruru wrote that the drone show depicted Pokémon and that she was amazed by what the drones could express. The roughly fifteen-minute performance left a strong impression.
Back afterwards, despite intending not to eat again, she had two pan-fried soup dumplings from the previous day, tapioca, Taiwanese castella and sweet chestnuts. She ended the evening very full, looking ahead to breakfast at the buffet and an outing planned for the following afternoon.
