A sweet detour in Shenzhen: a thin crisp and candied tomatoes

In her account of the mantis-shrimp meal, Haruru also recalled sweets she had left out of the previous day’s notes. A thin crisp and candied tomatoes, rather than candied apples, were two treats she enjoyed on the trip.

From haruru.1002’s past accounts.

A sweet that reminded her of a flattened taiyaki

The thin sweet reminded Haruru of a taiyaki flattened into a crisp. She described bean paste inside its crisp dough and remembered enjoying it.

Tart tomatoes with a sweet coating

The other treat was candied tomato. Haruru liked the sweet coating with the tart tomato, and two felt like just the right amount to her.
