Mantis shrimp delivered in Shenzhen, and a surprise beneath the shell
After missing the chance to buy mantis shrimp the day before, Haruru ordered them for delivery in Shenzhen. Once she had boiled them in salted water and removed the shells, the flesh was smaller than she expected. She still found them delicious, a food memory from her trip.

Ordering what she had missed the day before
Haruru received the order in the morning and wrote that a robot brought it. The way the food arrived became part of the memory alongside the meal itself.
A surprise inside the shell
She kept the delivery in the refrigerator before boiling the shrimp in salted water. Removing the shells revealed much less flesh than she had expected.
To Haruru, the flavour was somewhere between crab and shrimp, and she enjoyed it. The surprise beneath the shell became part of her memory of the meal.
Finding a positive side to a shopping difficulty
During that stay, paying for purchases herself was difficult, so she relied on someone else to pay. She felt disappointed that she could not freely buy whatever caught her eye.
Still, she found a positive side: perhaps being able to buy freely would have led her to buy too much. That thought also became part of her account.
