A first Hina celebration, with dolls and a festive table

The first Hina celebration came soon after a birthday, and I wanted to celebrate it properly too. I could not prepare everything I had hoped to make, but the smile made the occasion memorable.

From haruru.1002’s past accounts.

Giving the occasion its own celebration

With the birthday and Hina festival so close together, I had considered combining them. But I wanted to celebrate the first Hina occasion properly, so I made another effort.

There were many things I wanted to prepare. Time ran out, and the celebration began before I could make them all.

Colourful food and Hina sweets

The food photographs show a large, colourful bowl and a soup bowl containing shellfish. The tray of small sweets includes doll-like decorations and the words “Hina festival”.

Dolls from one generation to the next

The Hina dolls were the ones I had bought for my eldest daughter 31 years earlier. She was now a mother herself, which made me reflect on how much time had passed.

A year's growth was remarkable, and the smile made me happy. I celebrated with the hope that the child would continue to grow well.
