Daytime drinks in Ebisu, with a changed plan, ramen and karaoke
Haruru’s first daytime drinks in a while began with a long debate about where to go. She had hoped to visit several places in Ebisu Yokocho, but found it closed that day. A seafood meal, ramen and karaoke became part of a very full day instead.

Changing the plan at Ebisu Yokocho
After considering many places, Haruru ended up in Ebisu. Finding Ebisu Yokocho closed came as a surprise: it was different from the information she had found beforehand.
Searching again for seafood nearby, she found that a restaurant she had enjoyed in Kawasaki also had a place in Ebisu. She had wanted to try somewhere new, but the earlier good experience helped her decide.
A seafood meal, including sushi
Haruru enjoyed everything ordered and felt that perhaps the change had worked out well. There were more dishes than she could include in the photographs, and sushi was part of the meal too.
The outing took a different shape from the original bar-hopping plan, but there was plenty to enjoy at the table.
Returning to Tenkaippin for a rich bowl
Even after the sushi, the next stop was ramen at Tenkaippin. It had been more than ten years since Haruru’s last visit. She remembered finding it powdery before, which had kept her away for a long time.
Encouraged to choose the rich kotteri version, she tried it and enjoyed it this time. Adding garlic and spicy miso gave her another flavour she liked. She found the dumplings ordinary, but thought another ramen visit sometime might be nice.
Karaoke, followed by one more stop
Full and a little tipsy, Haruru went to karaoke. She tried a Blue Hawaii Takohai for the first time. She did not feel she had let off as much steam as she had hoped, so she wanted another karaoke outing.
There was still one more stop afterwards. Despite already feeling full, she ate and drank again. Looking back, it was a lot of both, but also a satisfying day off.
