An early Christmas camp with shared food and a starry sky

Under clear skies, Haruru enjoyed her last camp of the year. Food made by her and a friend filled the table for an early Christmas gathering.

From haruru.1002’s past accounts.

The year’s last camp under clear skies

This was Haruru’s final camp of the year. She remembered it as an early Christmas celebration, enjoyed in clear weather.

Dishes made by a friend and by Haruru

Her friend made paella with mussels and prawns, as well as beer-can chicken. Haruru liked the paella’s flavour and described the chicken as having crisp skin and a juicy interior.

She made a minestrone-style soup with hoto noodles and prepared potato salad. She also simmered chicken drumettes and onion with salt in a STAUB pot, and treated herself to Japanese Black beef for the roast beef. These were the dishes she recorded making for this camp.

A starry night and sandwiches in the morning

The night grew cold, and Haruru remembered the sky full of stars as a beautiful sight. In the morning, she saw the sunrise, ate sandwiches and relaxed a little before packing up.

It was a camp full of laughter. She left with the thought that she would like to visit a wider range of campsites the following year.
