Christmas a day late, with a table prepared by three

We celebrated Christmas a day late. My eldest daughter joined us, and the three of us shared the preparation. The table of food and the lovely cake are memories of a gathering I enjoyed.

From haruru.1002’s past accounts.

Sharing the preparation with my eldest daughter

My eldest daughter joined us this time, and the three of us divided the work. Sharing the preparation was part of what made the gathering enjoyable.

I wondered whether this would be our last event of the year.

Stars and tree shapes across the table

The photographs show dishes arranged over a red patterned tablecloth. Around the whole bird are stars, tree shapes and a wreath-shaped arrangement, with small snowman and reindeer decorations.

The closer photographs show details that are smaller in the wide view: tree shapes in the bread, and a ring of food finished with a white ribbon.

A cake that was lovely to look at and eat

The Christmas cake came from a shop run by the mother of one of my eldest daughter's classmates. I found it both cute and delicious.

In the photograph, red fruit and white piped decorations surround Santa, a snowman and star-shaped biscuits. A tree-shaped biscuit at the front carries a Christmas message.
