A batch of shibukawani that had not turned out as hoped found another use in cupcakes. Haruru mixed in plenty of the frozen chestnuts, preparing the cakes as a gift she planned to take the following day.

Giving the chestnuts another use
Haruru had kept the earlier, disappointing batch of shibukawani frozen. She mixed plenty of those chestnuts into cupcakes.
She was pleased with how they tasted in the cakes. Her note records enjoying the chestnuts in a different form.
A gift planned, and another batch to try
She prepared the cupcakes intending to take them as a gift the next day. Another delivery of chestnuts was expected, and she was looking forward to trying shibukawani again.
