A shellfish-filled birthday table for a daughter who loves seafood

For the birthday of her seafood-loving daughter, Haruru put together a table centred on shellfish. Fish and oysters joined the spread, which she remembered for its scent of the sea. A small reflection on the plating also accompanied this birthday note.

From haruru.1002’s past accounts.

Several kinds of shellfish for the celebration

Haruru listed sazae, tsubugai, hokkigai and scallops among the shellfish. They formed the centre of a birthday spread for her daughter, who loves seafood.

Fish alongside the shellfish

The list also included engawa, tuna, salmon and nakaochi. Several kinds of seafood shared the birthday table.

Oysters too, and a thought about the plating

Oysters joined the spread too. Haruru described it as filled with the scent of the sea.

She also reflected that she had simply arranged the food and wished she had plated it more neatly, a small personal note beside the photographs of the celebration.
