Eel in Asakusa, then on to Ueno for more food

On October 2, Haruru took a day off and headed to Asakusa for eel, prompted by an eel dish she had seen on television. The outing grew into a day of walking, food and drinks in Asakusa and Ueno.

From haruru.1002’s past accounts.

Eel and liver skewers at 江戸定

The chopstick sleeve and restaurant frontage identify 江戸定. Her photographs show eel over rice, a soup bowl and liver skewers. She noted that the eel was on the small side but tasted good.

An Asakusa walk and an apple pie

The photographs take in a shopping street beneath blue skies, Kaminarimon and a street with rickshaws. The frontage of 浅草ミレメーレ and an apple pie held in her hand are part of the same outing.

From Asakusa to a seafood stop in Ueno

An Ameyoko sign appears in a photograph annotated “Asakusa → Ueno.” The next pictures show a drink annotated パンダサワー, sashimi and raw oysters, recording another stop during the day.

An Italian meal to finish

She finished with an Italian meal. The photographs show an antipasto platter, an omelette labelled Rossini and peperoncino pasta with whitebait and aonori seaweed. A blackboard inside reads COOK MAN’S.

She wrote that everything she ate was delicious and that she wanted to come back. What began as a trip for eel became a full day out in Asakusa and Ueno.
